I’m not sure why some have called it disorganized. I found it well laid out with NOT too many photos and plenty of text. I found the content a bit more dated than John Pfanstiehl’s Automotive Paint Handbook or Boyd’s Coddingtons’s How to Paint Your Hot Rod, but still an excellent choice. BTW these three books will give you all the info you need.

Good overview, but dated, July 6, 2000

This review is from: The Haynes Automotive Body Repair & Painting Manual (Paperback)

This book is a skillfully written and well illustrated overview of the paint and body techniques of the late 1980s. You are better off looking at this one at the library and buying an up-to-date book.

As are all Haynes Manuals this book is an excellent source of information for do-it-yourselfers. Problem is they need to update the book. When I asked for some of the “new” paint products at a body shop they told me I would need to go to a museum.
