Capital City Mamas and Bloomingdale's are thrilled to announce our new 7-session series for mamas and their babies, ages 0-4 months. For seven Friday mornings from 10-11:30 a.m. beginning March 16th, Capital City Mamas and Bloomingdale's will host experts to give you the 411 on all things mama and baby. Come meet other mamas (you need a village!), find your baby's first friends, and get tons of info about the things that matter most, brought to you directly from the experts. Can't remember the last time you got more than 30 minutes of shut eye at once? Wondering why your precious bambino's ability to stay awake at night rivals a frat boy's? Help is on the way! Let pediatric sleep consultant, Jessica Brodey of Eat-Sleep-Love, answer all of your questions and learn how to get your baby to sleep longer, harder, and.. dare we say it… through the night!
Crying over Spilled Milk: Breastfeeding, Formula Feeding, and Baby Food Making
Don't tell a breastfeeding mama that there's no use crying over spilled milk! We all have lingering questions about breastfeeding, formula feeding, pumping, and more once the hospital lactation consultant is a distant memory. Hear from renowned lactation consultant, Kathleen McCue, about feeding your baby (breastmilk or formula — this is a judgment-free zone!) and keeping him content, comfortable, and satiated. Then get a baby food making tutorial to prepare you for your growing baby's nutritional needs.
Let's Talk About Sex (after) Baby

Come hear from Dr. Julie Bindeman and Nanci Brown, LICSW, both of Integrative Therapy of Greater Washington, about keeping your relationship with your spouse strong, exciting, and vital while raising a young child. And while we're talking relationships, how 'bout those in-laws? Find out how to draw appropriate boundaries and maintain a healthy relationship with extended family while also maintaining your space and sanity!
That's Life… With Baby
Car seat? Check. Adorable outfits? Check. Clean dishes from three days ago still sitting in the dishwaher? CHECK! Get tips from professional organizer and life stylist, Rachel Strisik, about maintaining some semblance of order, control, and calm in your newly-turned-upside-down world. Also find out about all sorts of resources for new moms from Mommy Relief (because all mamas need some!).
Work, Staying Home, and Childcare… oh my!
Brokering world peace might be easier than deciding what to do about working (full-time? part-time?) versus staying at home once your baby is born. Hear from Aliza Lerner and Kimberly Kubler, both of the Center for Growing Families, about common concerns, questions, and emotions surrounding this difficult decision, as well as the inside scoop on all sorts of childcare options.
We're Bringing Sexy (and healthy!) Back
Let's face it — back to your pre-pregnancy weight or not, we all want to feel better by eating healthy, nourishing food, and look better by working out the right way, especially now that our bodies and time commitments have changed. Fit-Trition founder and The Skinny Dish blogger, Melissa Farley, will provide nutritional and fitness tips to get you looking and feeling just how you want. Oh, and wear your work-out clothes — we're gonna sweat!

We are, however, unable to offer any refund or make-ups for classes missed. **Please note, there will be no class on April 6, 2012, due to Good Friday and Spring Break. Cancellation policy: If you sign up for the series and are subsequently unable to participate, please email capcitymamas@gmail.com at least 72 hours before the first session for a full refund (minus a processing fee). Within 72 hours, we can apply your payment toward future events.
